depends on the situation
most plumbing things i handle myself
as in toilet valves faucets supply pipes
minor drainage problem
when its a major situation that a snake wont cure in a drain i have had to call either a plumber or roto rooter
I do it not because I enjoy working with the pipes but its a matter of cost if you have tools and time its one thing but if cost more to take time off from work to do the work its cost affective to hire plumber.
same with my car I take it to mechanic only when problem exceeds my expertise.

It’s phone book time and panic time if it is shooting water everywhere. I’m in panic mode at this point. haha
