stevetowerIt certainly is, even if you tore the drywall off, it is not hard to put back on, patching it would not be a problem if you left it up. Some sanding to do though to get smooth enough for paper.
rroda12Yes doable but lengthy process. Might be better off just cutting down the drywall and applying new drywall, seriously. Tile is applied with a mortar based adhesive. When you chip off the tiles look at the mortar. See if you can chip it off easily. If not then you will have to do alot of chipping and sanding.
cubanrebelgirlDoable is one thing. Practical to do is another. Depending on your skill level, it might be a nightmare. There will be thin set/mortar and grout that you’ll have to remove. In the process, probably damaging the drywall. And while that’s fixable, if you’re not great at mudding, it might make a less than great surface for wallpapering.
Just my “we just renovated our entire house” opinion. I’d take the advice of someone whose done it and who’s at your handyman level before anyone else’s, though!

HisWifeTheirMomIF the tile is on drywall: the chances of removing the tile without making huge holes in the drywall is slim to none. Then fixing those holes insn’t as easy as it looks-sanding drywall mud to perfection SUCKS and if it isn’t perfect it is going to show through your paper.
IF the tile is on “backer board” or an old fashioned mud set the chances are none. There will be a seam between the drywall and backer board that you can’t make perfect. If it is a mud set it will be a bumpy, lumpy mess underneath. Patching in a new piece of drywall is far easier in my opinion!You then have only the seam to sand and make perfect instead of a billion holes. It really is relatively inexpensive and Lowes or Home Depot will give you a pretty great “how to.” Lowes has a lot of how to’s on their website.

peanut8473yes, you can do this, be sure to sand the walls down before you out the wallpaper over it.
