Go for the retro look. 1960’s -70’s. Black and white tile floors. White toilet, white shower, black faucets, small chandelier and side lights for the mirror. Accessory pictures should be easy to find.

if u don’t want contemporary.. what about retro… reds/pinks/turquoise

I myself may use dusty purples or lavender
mint green…

y not do a stripe on either 1 wall or all walls. Rose.. would look nice instead of candy pink.

OR u can do a faux finish in one of the colors.. sponging ON & OFF… raggin either ON or OFF, criss cross brush strokes in 1 or 2 colors… Stenciling in something that u enjoy.. flowers… leaves… diamonds… butterflies… dragonfiles…

The black and white thing is going to look contemporary so I would go more with that look. You lucky dog I would love to have that look! lol

Go Country. Cows Rock. Actually, most animal themes-even safari would work with the black and white.

I think the black marble is very traditional. Sculptors used it. It is very luxurious but does need cleaning, polishing and maintenance to keep it luxurious. You could still use white for your toilet and maybe a Grey tile on the floor and shower. Or a white tile picking up the black. You could use a Merlot on the walls to warm it up and frame out your mirror which I would run from the ceiling to the back splash. Add some traditional wall sconces with black shades or crystal ones. You could still go into the neutral brown family. Add a wall towel heater for a European look.

You could use a black and white toile wallpaper. If you do not have to paint your cabinets, a rich cherry wood stain would look great with the black. I would use nickle faucets or even a bronze. It you had cherry or mahogany woods, I would frame the mirror in that.

You could, instead, add individual round contemporary mirrors above each sink. Add an oriental rug.

I would use high hats with a white baffle for task lighting.
I would not let the black and white dictate comtemporary.

I just bought some 2′ X 4′ plastic sheets on eBay that, when painted, look like the old tin that was once used for ceilings. On the seller’s site he had posted pictures of what people have done with them. One was a gorgeous, old-fashioned bathroom. I can’t remember if it was black and white, but I do know there was a lot of black, INCLUDING THE tin-look ceiling!!! It was really classy…and in keeping with a vintage look!!!

If you dont like contemporary, then go for the art deco style, which had a lot of black and white.

If you dont want it completely black and white, try adding some colour, with for example some green marble wall tiles.
