Is there a Canadian organization besides Easter Seals, that helps fund disability modifications to a home in Ontario Canada? My son requires massive intervention in all areas, is on a 22 year wait list for a group home, and is highly active and destructive. He takes meds for obsessive/compulsive disorder, but this doesn’t really slow him down. Last week he smahed a toilet, through a fridge into the basement, and tore a hole through a wall. The costs are astronomical, we’ve been told the province will care for him, but we have to sign away all parental rights in order to get him help…this is crazy, and we prefer to keep him in the home, where people with a vested interest in him can care for him.
It’s easier to place him into care, than to get in-house treatment, and help. We need a full bathroom renovation due to flooding(he turned the water on and damaged the floors and walls, my insurer says he will cancel my insurance if I file a claim, and without insurance, no mortgages.

I’ve been doing this long drawn out renovation to my master bathroom, so it’s been about 3 years since I’ve been able to run water throught the pipes in that room. These are steel pipes by the way. I just capped the pipes off where the sink and toilet would normally connect. Because I’m not running water through these pipes (although they are holding water), will they corrode more quickly? Am I to expect some really thin walls in these pipes by now?

I run a 24 hour restaurant and am compiling a “wish list” to give to my owner for Christmas. I am looking for a ballpark figure anyone has from experience to renovate 2 restaurant (men’s & women’s) bathrooms.

Should tiles go all the way to the ceiling? And is it better to tile on the diagonal? I want my bathroom renovation to be modern yet classic.
Air Marshall 50 Cent asked:
I will be renovating my bathroom soon. I will do new tile around the bathtub, new linoleum, new paint, new fixtures and sink……basically all the bathroom surfaces, with the exception of the bathtub, will be new. I’ve done all these things (tile, linoleum) before and I am comfortable with it, but I’ve never done them all together as one complete project. Do you have any suggestions as to where to start and what order to do these things in. Any other advice would be appreciated as well.

We are undergoing a major renovation at our home. Our contractor had put the walls up but not a roof yet. We had very heavy rainfall that night and water was streaming down our kitchen, laundry, and bathroom walls. Nevertheless, we are dealing with mold now because of the water damage. Our contractor said he cannot do anything about it until we get to the drywall stage which could be another few weeks because of all the inspections required before we get to that point. I’m really scared to even go in the bathroom for fear my 9 month old daughter will get sick. Our contractor admitted it was his fault and that he will fix it. He wants to put bleach on it and KILZ? over it. I don’t think that is going to fix the mold problem. What is the BEST way to get rid of the mold problem for good? Thank you.

I have a large bathroom and I need the shower, half a wall and the floor tiled. I also need a lot of plumbing installed, repaired or moved etc… I know this is a little vague but would $5000 cover it?
Nerds Rule! asked:
Our guest bathroom needed renovations, and she wanted to lay the pipe, but I wanted someone more skilled to do it. Why is she so upset?

I am looking at a major renovation. Kitchen, bathroom, and converting a basement to an apartment. I am looking for someone that can do the design and draw up plans for this project. Who do I go to and what kind of cost just for the design and blueprints?
